Boudoir is not about "them".
After spending some time in the boudoir community, I've come to realize that a lot of boudoir marketing is centered around creating photos as a gift for someone else. Simply stated, we tend to view boudoir shoots as Valentine's gifts, or a beautiful creation for grooms/brides to enjoy on their big day.
Of course, those are still wonderful reasons to book a boudoir shoot! We love helping you create vivid and stunning gifts for your special someone no matter how large the occasion may be. However, all of us at Onyx Fox operate by the strong belief that these reasons should never be the ONLY reason to book a session.
Boudoir is not about "them". Boudoir is about you.
We have grown up in a society that benefits greatly from our self doubt and insecurities. We are bombarded with ads, billboards, social media and television that tell us what to be and when to be it. It's no wonder so many of us spend years trying desperately to feel comfortable in our own skin. It's a large ask of ourselves when our world makes it impossible to step away from the comparisons.
Boudoir is not just about looking sexy or giving a gift. It's about seeing yourself for all the beautiful things you are and reveling in it. A boudoir shoot should serve a first and foremost purpose of opening your eyes to every reason you have to feel confident and powerful. Seeing yourself in the mirror every day does not do justice to how striking your features truly are. Accepting the opportunity to see your most confident self through our lens will change your life in ways other forms of self care simply cannot.
